Course Overview

The 5-day Bootcamp, part of EMI’s Training, Exercises and Drills Program, covers the required organization, processes, systems, competencies, tools and plans needed to build your institution’s Integrated Emergency Management System (IEMS). This will be held on January 20 - 24, 2020 at Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines.

In this bootcamp, you will learn the following:

  • Operating an Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
  • Coordinating an effective major disaster response;
  • Dealing with extreme conditions;
  • Managing increasing demands and limited resources;
  • Building a common operating picture (COP); and
  • Planning and solving problems effectively.

Building-block activities using stress-test scenarios from single incidents to worse case emergency situations, will give you the skills to manage all types of emergencies. Hands-on exercises will let you align your EOC with international standards to scale up your response capacities by taking advantage of decades emergency management experience worldwide.

IEMS is a global, structured, and results-proven approach that puts the guessing out of managing emergencies and instead, puts you in control.In 5 days, you will have the skills and tools to manage all types of emergencies for your organization:

  • EOC Concept of Operations and Standard Operating Procedures
  • EOC organization benchmarking to international emergency management standards and practices
  • EOC prototyping with 3D printing for referencing
  • Prototype design of an EOC resilient communications system
  • Protocols to operate your EOC, including activation to de-activation for a major earthquake or tropical cyclone

Training Fees

The fee for the training is 1950 USD, inclusive of the following:

  1. Course tuition,
  2. Participant's kit (with all training materials needed for the bootcamp),
  3. EOC field visit,
  4. Dinner and cocktails on January 19, 2020, and
  5. Lunch, snacks, and dinner for January 20 - 24, 2020.

We are offering a 10% discount for early bird registrants (open until December 6, 2019), women, persons with disabilities, and organizations with more than 3 participants.*

Please note that this fee is exclusive of airfare, land transportation costs, accommodations, health and accident insurance, payment processing fees, any bank charges, and personal expenses.

Payment must be made at the time of the registration. Registration is only ensured after payment is received and cleared by the EMI. Confirmation e-mails will be sent to notify you that your slot has been secured, along with other instructions for the bootcamp.

*Each participant can only avail of one type of discount.
